My personal path to my own brand
There are moments in life when one decision changes everything.
For me, this was the autumn/winter of 2023. After many years as a managing director in the animal feed and animal health industry, it was clear that I would be stepping down from my role. This opened up a new opportunity - free from existing structures, regardless of an existing product range.
The idea was born: under my own brand BergerPIGEONS To develop products that offer real solutions to racing pigeon breeders worldwide.
From the early years to today
My journey began in the early 80s when I kept my first racing pigeons. Back then, there was no flood of products - just experience, tips and myths. Even then, I asked myself the question:
"How can I be sure that what I give my pigeon really works?"
I have been a breeder since 1982 and have been developing products for pigeons professionally since 1997: grain mixtures, feed supplements, veterinary medicines, biocides and hygiene products.
My studies in biology with a focus on Power metabolism opened up a scientific perspective for me. I later deepened my knowledge at Muskator-Werke and as Managing Director I was able to combine theory and practice. I also gained experience in marketing, sales and international trade.
Today I know that the market is overcrowded. That's why it needs a Simple, clearly structured and scientifically sound care concept.
Why a new brand for carrier pigeons?
Breeders have been telling me for years:
"It's all become far too complicated. I need a simple, reliable concept for the feeding and health of my pigeons."
That is precisely my motivation.

Practical example from everyday life: Regeneration after a race
After a tough race of over 600 kilometres, the pigeons return home exhausted but motivated. Many fanciers report that their birds need two to three days before they are fully fit again.
This is exactly where my products come in: With functional ingredients that activate the metabolism, relieve the liver and regenerate the muscles, pigeons can be fit again more quickly and ready for the next training session or the next race.
This is crucial in order to achieve consistently top performances throughout the entire competition season.
Focus on training & feeding
A good racing pigeon not only needs strong genes, but also the right care.
In training, for example: if the birds are given 1-2 hours of free flight every day, it quickly becomes apparent which combination of feeding and supplementation improves their condition. Breeders who test my concepts report faster recovery and a constant joy of flying.
This shows that health, regeneration and performance are not opposites, but belong together and this is exactly what BergerPIGEONS supports.

My aim is to give breeders, whether beginners or professionals, the know-how they need to realise the full potential of their racing pigeons.
